Downtown Dog

Jet-lagged Bruno heads downtown...

1.  Dog Run, Washington Square Park
All he wanted to do was sit on my lap!   I tried encouraging him.
Go on, Brunz!  Go play!
Bruno remained unconvinced.
It took the coaxing of some of the more senior citizens to convince him to at least share his park bench...
Old Man Jack says, help me up!
Old Lady says, Bruno, no one's gonna steal your Mom's lap!
Bruno grudgingly allows them within patting distance.
Almost an hour passes, and I realise, I am enjoying the Dog Run more than poor Bruno!  I get up to leave and Bruno displays excellent heeling off lead, eager to stick by me, and get the hell out.
Fact-  Bruno is for the most part, a well- behaved dog.  He's just, Not Friendly.
Mr Unfriendly

2.  Retail Therapy
i.  Wagwear, 48E 11th Street
Jimmy managing the store says, Bruno is so patient and well-behaved!
Yup- Mr Patient/Well-Behaved aka Mr Unfriendly
Bruno scores a raincoat for London summers and a new bag for travel.

(We love Wagwear!  We love American service!  Thank you, Jimmy!)

ii.  Beasty Feast, 630 Hudson Street
Awesome service by Dimitri.  We left with food for Bruno, and the Sleepypod Clickit Harness for Angel.
I hope it fits.

3.  Walk & Walk
(Because New Yorkers love their dogs!)

4.  Vet Visit
Tapeworm treatment for re-entry into the UK, and some paperwork for returning via Paris.

Overheard at the Vet's- "He's so cute!  He's so well-behaved!"
Yes, he is.  But remember, he is Not Friendly.

5.  Wine & Dine
i.  Tartine, 253 West 11th Street
An old favorite, on such a pretty block.  So glad it is still there.
BYOB, cash only.

ii.  French Roast, intersection of 11th Street and 6th Ave
Plain, unfussy fare, cordial, efficient service.
Mr Unfriendly overdoes it with his chicken, and throws up on my lap.
